She stared at down the barrel of the gun as the boy tried to negotiate with her. She held her blade to his neck with unwavering intent. She looked at him unmoving as he talked, her crystal purple eyes watching him blankly. Her mouth curled into a smile as he began to talk about his book, however the avatar showed no signs of amusement. There was only one person that she could think of who would come anywhere near a cosplay cafe and be more interested in reading a book. She couldn't help but start to laugh as she let her sword drop out of her hands, the metal scuttling against the ground noisily. She raised her hand up to the draw button. "You really will have to tell me about that book sometime." She slammed her finger onto the accept draw button highlighted on the HUD causing the blue tinted world to once again collapse around her. She took a deep breath of relief as the pain of the virtual world flooded out of her. She looked down at her hand, curling her fingers up in disbelief. Just moments ago she had had absolutely no control of the nerves in her arm. She looked around the back room in disbelief as everybody continued on with their daily lives exactly where they had left off. It was still hard to swallow the fact that that game slowed time to such a time stop life fashion. Kiyomi looked around the back room to make sure nobody was watching her before peeking around to get a site at the boy sitting at her table. She was positive that she had just fought him, how was she supposed to act like nothing had happened and continue on serving him, especially after such an embarrassing display of her fighting. She scrambled through the back room to pick up her tray, quickly loading a cup of iced water onto it before venturing into the main room. She took a moment to look around quickly finding a customer who was lacking a drink before B lining to his table. She tried to casually act as if nothing had changed for her, continuing her job as normal. Did the boy know that she was the Byzantium Empress?

Katsuo sighed in relief as the blade dropped from his neck. He'd been fairly certain that she'd just take the gamble and try to kill him, but he was glad she didn't. She had almost made it seem like that wasn't the first time he'd mentioned the book to her, though... nah, he was just imagining things. The world around him faded to black, then he was suddenly in the coffee shop again. His right arm jerked with a spasm as he got feeling back in it, and he ended up knocking his coffee over with his book. Cursing under his breath, he set the book down and frantically grabbed a bunch of napkins to clean the mess up. Once he had managed to wipe the table clean, he set the cup back on the little saucer and put the balled up napkins in the cup. He sighed as he ran his fingers through his hair. It was hard to believe how real the sensations of the game had felt, and how little time had passed in the real world during that fight. Only a second, if that... Brain Burst was so powerful, it was a bit scary. Sliding the cup and saucer towards the middle of the table, Katsuo picked his book back up and tried to find his place. After a few moments of frantic page turning, he figured it out and marked it properly before closing it. He made a small gesture towards his waitress when he saw her, and started to pull out his wallet. He might as well get two cups to-go, since he spilled half of his...

Kiyomi felt her heart take a jump as the boy gestured for her to come over. She slid the tray into the crevice of her arm as she made her way over to the boy. She gave a polite bow as she approached the table, just as she had been taught in her job training. As noticed the slight mess that remained from the spilled coffee almost letting out a scoff at the thought of having to wash the table after him. "Is that going to be all for today?" She asked him, her smile flashing before she forced a look of distraction onto herself, her eyes darting around the room behind her. She could feel her heart starting to race again as her adrenaline started to pump, less than a couple of minutes ago the two of them were locked in a life or death battle. She couldn't help but let out a shiver in the thought of the intensity of the battle.

Katsuo's current thought process was something along the lines of a stream of curse words and derogatory comments, all aimed at himself and his clumsiness. "No, not quite, I need two coffees to-go, as well. One black, and one with cream and sugar please." He quickly did some math in his head to approximate the cost with tax, and moved enough out of his savings account to easily cover it. He wasn't entirely sure on how much that would tip her, but he was thinking it'd be around 30%, maybe a little more. He pulled out another little bit to be on the safe side. He noticed his waitress shivering slightly, and instantly got confused - it was HOT in here, not cold. He chalked it up to a woman's mystery, and moved on. "Oh, I just realized, I never got your name." Katsuo looked at her a bit quizzically, as he couldn't even remember a time he'd heard her name at school (not that he'd been there for long).

Kiyomi quickly whipped out the small pad that slightly hung from her apron pocket, a black pen clipped to the paper. She wrote down a few symbols as to keep track of his order before returning the pen and paper to her pocket. "Kiyomi Lum" She stated before giving yet another half bow and walking into the back room once more. She didn't bother asking his name yet, she knew that she would have to exchange pleasantries with him at least once more before he left. She started heating up some water before adding the coffee grinds to the pot. When the water got to a good boil she poured it into the pot. After the water finished filtering she poured it into two separate to go cups, adding a quick tip worth of creamer and two sugar cubes. She snapped a plastic cover lids onto each. With a cup of coffee in each hand she made her way back into the cafe. With a gentle placement she set the two coffees in front of the boy. "This one is black." She hovered a finger over the lid of the first cup before sliding her finger over to the other. "And this one has Cream and Sugar. She reached into her apron pocket once more, pulling out a a thin white slip of paper. She placed the receipt in front of him, sliding an ink pen across the table towards him in case his signature was needed. "I dont think I ever caught your name either." She stated, trying to pass some time while he made his payment.

Katsuo nodded when she told him the specifics of the coffees, and filled out the receipt with his account info and the total payment he'd set aside. One glance told him he'd set aside too much, her tip was gonna be like 50% of the cost of his coffees. Whatever, if a girl like her is working here then she clearly needs the money. A few quick scribbles and his signature was down. "I'm Katsuo Takehiko, it was nice meeting you. Um..." Katsuo was on the verge of asking her out, but decided against it. "Thanks." He snagged his book and tucked it into his jacket pocket. Katsuo picked up the coffees, making sure to grab his mom's with his left hand, and headed towards the door with his head ducked down a bit. I'm such a chicken...

Kiyomi grabbed the receipt as the boy came to a stand and noticed the absurdly large tip for a few cups of coffee. She raised her head to him feeling the responsibility to make an effort to show a sign of kindness. "It was nice meeting you too. You really will have to tell me about that book sometime-" Her words faded away as she realized that she repeated the same words as when the two of them had been fighting. "You know, in Cooking Club, at school. I think that's where I've seen you around school." She tried her best to distract him from the wording with her sudden recollection of who he was. He was new to their school and had since joined the same club as her, however the cooking club was not small so until now she had not made any effort to know him by face.

Katsuo nearly jumped in the air over her last few words to him, but he was able to restrain himself from doing that and looking like a total idiot. He turned back to look at Kiyomi as he got to the door, slowly pushing it open with his back as he walked backwards. "Yeah, I'll definitely do that," he said to her with a grin on his face that he couldn't contain. As he left, he felt like he was missing something important, but it couldn't possibly be as important as Kiyomi Lum telling him she wanted to talk again. Seriously, was he hallucinating after that crazy Brain Burst fight earlier? He made his way home, something nagging at the back of his mind, but Kiyomi was occupying the majority of his brain space and there wasn't any reason to change that.
