Now you've got the Stats to fight, but what are the benefits? Other than fighting, what can you use Burst Point for? Here's a handy cheat sheet with the numerical values, with short explanations, on the Burst Points system we'll be using on this site.
+75BP start
-1 for Burst Link
-5 for Physical Burst (level 2+ req)
-10 for Unlimited Burst (level 4+ req)
-100 for Level-up (EVERY LEVEL UP)
-99% Physical Full Burst (Level 9+ req)
+15 per on level victory (+/- 50% for every level difference, rounded up; when a level 4 beats level 3 they would win 8, beats level 2 would win 4, and beats level 1 would be 2 etc. 1 is minimum. level 1 beats level 2 wins 23 points, beats level 3 gives 35 points, etc)
-15 per on level defeat (+/- 50% per level difference, rounded up; for example, when a level 1 loses to level 2 you would lose 8 points, loses to level 3 would lose 4 points, loses to level 4 would lose 4 points, etc. 1 is the minimum. level 4 loses to level 3 loses 23 points, loses to level 2 would lose 35 points, loses to level 1 would lose 53 points, so on)
Alright, now let's break this down a little bit. You start at level 1 with 75BP. Every time you Accelerate, you lose 1BP. Accelerating (using the Burst Link command) increases your cognitive speed by 1000x - one second for one point, which to you, lasts 1000 seconds, or 16 minutes and 40 seconds. While Accelerating, you can challenge other Burst Linkers in the area to a duel. If they're the same level, you either win or lose 15BP when you win or lose the fight. The numbers get funky when you're not the same level, but basically, when you lose to someone below your level, you lose more than 15BP and they win more than 15BP, and the opposite is also true - if you beat someone above your level, you win more than 15BP and they lose more than 15BP. The number increases/decreases by 50% for every level difference, based on the situation - I've outlined examples in the cheat sheet.
As you level up from bashing heads, you'll be able to do more things with the Brain Burst program. Physical Burst, available at level 2, costs 5BP, and increases your body's speed and cognitive ability by 10x for 3 seconds. You can use this as often as you have points. Bear in mind, it gets costly since there's no real way to earn BP from using it, and it only works in the real world, not the duel arenas. Next yould be Unlimited Burst, which allows you to enter the Unlimited Arena, an open-world fighting location that you can stay in indefinitely at the Accelerated pace (16min 40sec for every second in the real world). You gain access to this command at level 4. This sounds exciting, but there are other threats besides your fellow Burst Linkers in Unlimited World - specifically, the Enemy. Gigantic Beasts that grant low BP gains when you kill them. Unlimited World and The Enemy are still under construction, once we have a few DA's getting close to 4 we'll have the system in place. Lastly, Physical Full Burst, which costs 99% of your current BP, and unlocks at level 9. This allows you to move at 100x your normal rate, with 100x your normal cognitive speed as well. This puts excessive strain on the body on top of the BP cost. It lasts 3 seconds.
Lastly, every time you Level Up, you'll need to spend 100BP to actually get the extra stat points and your new "perk".
